 1. To open the hose clip, place it in the locating groove so that it is fully in contact with the surface marked “ON”. Operate the pliers. The hose clip will be held in the open position.
 2. To close the hose clip, place it in the locating groove, it is fully in contact with the surface marked “OFF”.
